About the press

Inky Octopus Press is a small-batch letterpress studio in Manchester Center, Vermont. Working on an 1880s-era Cook’s Victor Press, I aim to keep the craft of letterpress alive for a new generation.

About the printer

I love letterpress printing because it combines so many of the things I’ve always been drawn to—history, craft, and the tactile beauty of old things. I grew up in a converted apple barn in Connecticut, surrounded by the textures and quirks of the past, and that early connection to aged wood, rusted tools, and weathered surfaces left a deep impression on me. Later, I earned a degree in historic preservation, which only deepened my appreciation for the stories embedded in materials and methods that have stood the test of time.

Letterpress feels like a perfect extension of that love—slow, deliberate, and full of character. Every impression made by type or block on paper feels like a small act of honoring tradition.

The Paper

Inky Octopus prints on Neenah cotton rag stock manufactured in New York’s Mohawk Valley. Cotton rag paper is prized for its sustainability, as it often utilizes cotton waste from the textile industry, giving new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded.

Notecards are sized at 4.25"x5.5" to minimize waste.

The Inks

I use inks from The Southern Ink Company in Austin, Texas. Their inks are made from renewable vegetable oils and pigment.

Custom Prints

Looking for something special? I create custom letterpress cards and invitations with a handcrafted touch. Each piece is hand-printed on high-quality paper, creating a timeless look and rich texture that digital printing can’t match.
